AREA THEMES

South Norfolk will be showcasing the support that Norfolk Knitters and Stitchers give to disadvantaged and disabled children through the many wonderful donated items received via its members. There will be displays of gorgeous made items as well as items for sale which will include knitted and sewn flowers, toys and other hand made goodies. Attleborough Chapel Road School have been invited to come along and join in the fun.

West Norfolk's display will centre on natural encounters with owls and possibly riding for the disabled. It is hoped that representatives from supported charities will be in attendance. There will be loads of animal themed items which will be available for sale as well as a display showing the work of the Area and its supported charities.

North Norfolk will be having a display of knitted and sewn items made for hospitals in Norfolk and further afield, including Addenbrookes in Cambridge. This includes the Linus Project who make patchwork quilts for terminally ill youngsters, a selection of premature and stillborn baby items and various sizes of blankets, dementia bands, drip bags and knitted breasts for the Infant Feeding Programme and for mastectomy patients.

The Norwich Area will be joined by the Norwich Food and Baby Banks and will be displaying some of the items donated to Homeless charities in the City. There will also be a display showing how Norfolk Knitters and Stitchers help people, within Norfolk and beyond, to support themselves and their communities through learning new skills and experiencing new work.

The Lowestoft Wool Loft is proud of its unique status as a border town and have been given both ends of the spectrum as its remit. They will be demonstrating how Norfolk Knitters and Stitchers and Suffolk Stitchers and Knitters help older people in our Society as well as having a 'Story Book Corner' for the younger generation - a complete story in a bag with a professional storyteller.
