We now rent two wonderful rooms at the Christ Church Centre in Magdalen Road, Norwich. This is at the bottom of Constitution Hill. It has a large car park in the front. There are buses that will bring you to the Loft. They are the numbers 11, 11A (direction Sprowston) and 13 (direction Spixworth). All three buses go from the same bus stop on St Stephens (near the entrance to Chapelfield Mall). They stop opposite Lawson Road - across from the Christ Church Centre.
To find the Wool Loft and Sewing Attic, go in through the front door of the Christ Church Centre, follow the corridor along by the kitchen and go up the stairs. The rooms are clearly marked on the right at the top.
We hold an Open Day on the third Tuesday of every month from 10am - 12.30 when any member can come in to drop off knitting and sewing or pick up wool, fabric, buttons and so on. So many people have started coming to this that we are using the hall downstairs where there is plenty of room to display our knitting and sewing as well as sort and pack all the items that come in on the day. We also have a huge range of new knitting patterns which members can have for small donations. There's tea and coffee as well so that everyone can enjoy staying for a chat. Members are free to take the donated wool but we also have new double knitting wool available for a minimum donation of £1.15 a ball as well as Random dk, chunky wool and Aran at very low prices. Action Group members and other helpers are there to welcome you and help you find what you want.
When the Christ Church Centre is open members can also drop off knitting in a bin which is clearly marked Norfolk Knitters behind the door marked Sewell Room (just past the kitchen). The Centre is open when other groups are using it and this is generally all day till 4pm Monday and Tuesday (except between 12.30 and 1.30) and between 2pm and 4pm on Wednesday and Thursday.
Our rooms have patterns, wool, needles, fabric, buttons as well as books you can borrow and much more. Do come along and meet members of the Action Group and have a cup of tea and a chat!
